NHS R&D Forum Groups
Research Management Working Group
The group brings extensive experience and expertise in both managing and delivering research activity within NHS and University organisations. Members represent NHS research management teams across the UK.
The group has input into many UK-wide policy initiatives and is a source of expertise for the wider community. The group plays a critical role in developing, sharing, and implementing best practice in NHS health care research project management, regulation, governance, sponsorship, research operations and support.

Sally Humphreys
Sally moved into clinical research following a successful career as a registered nurse in emergency medicine, anaesthetics and critical care. She has worked on intervention and non-intervention studies in a range of therapeutic areas and across a variety of sectors predominantly leading research in anaesthesia and critical care. Sally is passionate about the pivotal and professional role research plays in improving knowledge and future practice and currently holds a Florence Nightingale Foundation Research Scholarship at the University of Hertfordshire.

- Develop consultation responses
- Act as a point of reference & contact for the members with questions or peer review
- Feed into general Forum training, conference and events programmes.
- Champion the NHS R&D Forum and our community.
- Speak for and represent the research management, support and leadership community.
- Drive the Forum forward and provide leadership
- Strategically, proposing Forum content, providing leadership and ensuring oversight of outputs
- As a point of contact, providing peer support to colleagues
- As a Task and finish, producing outputs and resources
- As a space to work out loud, sharing experience and connecting with colleagues.
