Consultation on Draft Scope and Standards for Clinical Research Practitioners
Date: 25 September 2019
In early 2018, the Department of Health gave approval for the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) to develop the professional identity of Clinical Research Practitioners (CRPs) in a staged approach. In collaboration with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS), the CRP Directory was launched in September 2018 and over 500 CRPs are now publicly listed.
Documentation has been developed through serial iteration involving a range of key stakeholders, including CRPs, other health and care professionals and senior managers and leaders within organisations. Draft Scope of Practice for CRPs and Draft Standards of Proficiency for CRPs are now available for your review and feedback on whether these are fit for purpose. These documents are accompanied by a short position paper on the initiative. Please access the documentation and supporting resources here: https://nihr.ahcs.ac.uk/consultation-on-crp-accredited-registration/
Your response to this consultation is valuable and will contribute to shaping the introduction of accredited registration for CRPs. A linked Feedback Form will remain open for responses until 27th September, 2019.
