Public Partnership Team Webinar Announced & February Event Update
Date: 20 March 2025
The Public Partnership team held the successful in-person Making Connections event in February, in Birmingham, where we brought together children and young people from across the UK, to discuss their role and voice in research. The event was co-designed with young people and supported by GenerationR (Liverpool team) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network, with funding from the Department of Health and Social Care. On the day, we discussed the importance of involving young people in research, and the best approaches to involving them well.
This event marked 10 years of progress involving children, and young people in health and care research. It also celebrated how their contributions have shaped the design, development, and delivery of child-health research.
We have an excellent visual representation summarising the outcomes of the event; please see the attached file.
We are now holding a follow up Reconnecting webinar on the 1st May, this is an opportunity to hear about what’s important to young people when shaping and taking part in research, and how we can amplify the voices of children and young people in research, ensuring their views are embedded in future research and projects. We will hear from young people, those who support their voices and charities involving children and young people in research.
In the webinar, we will present insights from the day, alongside a report which has been co-written with the young people planning group. Please register your interest here
