Date: 25 July 2025
Where were you born?
I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Oxford.
Where is home now?
I still live in Oxford with my husband and 3 girls and our new addition Kiara the cat.
What was your first job?
My first pay packet came from working at a summer playscheme, but my official first job was working at Boots.
What is your favourite food?
I am a foodie and love Turkish and Chinese food, but it is dependent on my mood. I would never say no to a good Cheeseburger or my mums cooking!!
What is your favourite film?
I love watching movies and enjoy lots of genres including international films, but my favourite has to be A Walk to Remember.
What was the first album/single you ever bought?
First album was one from the band Eternal – can’t remember the name
What are you most proud of personally or professionally?
For someone who had a completely different life plan, I am extremely proud of my journey to my current position. I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people who have taught me so much, doing a job that I genuinely enjoy.
You are stranded on a desert island – what one item you would take with you (book, album, luxury item).
I love a good book but one would not be enough, so it would have to be my kindle and a solar powered charger.
What do you enjoy most about being a Trustee?
I have been involved in the R&D forum since Covid as an attendee of the Hive Mind group, which I now co-chair. I became a trustee because I have always benefited so much from all my interactions with the forum. We have a supportive and helpful community covering all aspects of research in the UK, and I wanted to be part of sustaining that support and knowledge for our future colleagues.
