How the new NIHR RDN funding model works

The new NIHR Research Delivery Network funding model, launching in April 2026, will standardise how funding is distributed to NHS Trusts and wider care settings across England.
The new model will allocate funding for 3 main areas:
- Research delivery within NHS Trusts and wider care settings
- RRDN teams including the Agile Research Delivery Teams
- Strategic funding
