Bursaries To Support Postgraduate Qualifications In Clinical Research Delivery Leadership
Date: 28 May 2025
The DHSC are funding a significant number of bursaries for colleagues who are registered Health and Care Professionals to undertake masters level clinical research delivery leadership qualifications aligned with the Clinician Researcher Credentials Framework.
In addition to being suitable courses for those already involved in research delivery, this is a unique opportunity to significantly upskill the clinical workforce to become research active and take on Co-investigator and Principal Investigator roles. We encourage you to identify potential staff groups and clinical specialties that are underrepresented in research to raise awareness of these bursaries and to encourage and support applications. This may be an ideal opportunity for those in specialist roles, e.g. Clinical Nurse Specialists, and NMAHP Consultant roles to undertake research focussed career development. Similarly, it may be suitable for colleagues working in areas where you have an under-representation of research expertise, e.g pharmacy, biomedical scientists, radiography.
We ask that you raise awareness of these bursaries with colleagues, Chief Nurses, Directors of Nursing or Midwifery and the Leads of other professions eligible to apply.
Information about the qualifications is available on the NIHR website.
Bursary applicants must apply for a university course before they apply for a bursary. They must hold a course offer to receive a bursary.
Further information about the bursaries is available on the course funding page of the NIHR website.
