NIHR PPI in Action Webinar – Reaching Those Often Missed: Vulnerable and Underserved Groups

There are two nurse-led Violence Prevention Teams in Welsh emergency departments supporting patients injured in violence. The NIHR-funded EDVIPE study evaluated whether these teams reduce repeat attendance. Shaped from design to dissemination by people with lived experience, speakers Simon Moore and Megan Hamilton explain how the study reached underrepresented groups through Welsh Women’s Aid, BAWSO, and The Wallich alongside two lay co-investigators. They will share how the UK Standards for Public Involvement were applied in practice, what worked and what was harder, and how public contributors directly changed the research questions and interpretation of findings.
