Are you looking for new ways to develop the next generation of Research Delivery Leads?

Applications are now open for the University of Exeter and Newcastle University  new online Postgraduate Certificate in Leading Clinical Research Delivery. These qualifications are open to prospective learners from all healthcare professions and will commence in September 2022.

They will provide a forum to develop the necessary networks, skills and confidence for healthcare practitioners from any regulated profession to support and lead clinical research delivery.  Aligned with the NIHR-AoMRC Clinician Researcher Credentials Framework, the courses are designed for learners with busy work schedules studying part time.

Full bursaries for the course fees will be available for eligible early applicants.

Overview of Postgraduate Certificates

Flexible access will be provided to online modules consisting of high-quality interactive learning. These theoretical modules will develop knowledge and insight of the approaches to, and delivery of, clinical research.

In addition to the online modules, learners will have an opportunity to put their learning into practice by undertaking a workplace-based module. They will work on existing research projects in their local area, supported by the mentorship of a senior researcher.

60 credits are required to complete the Postgraduate Certificate course. This equates to approximately 600 hours of learner activities, which will normally be completed part-time over a period of 10 months.

Who can apply?

The courses are aimed at experienced healthcare practitioners from all professional backgrounds who aspire to take on the roles of Collaborator, Co-Investigator or Principal Investigator (PI). This includes those who have no or limited research experience and those currently working in research delivery.

Clinician researchers may be from all registered healthcare disciplines including medicine, nursing, midwifery, pharmacists, healthcare scientists and other allied health professions.
